Can I use the application in languages other than English?

Dragon Go! currently supports U.S. English only. However, we are continuously evaluating new languages to make available – so stay tuned to this site or follow us on Facebook.com/NuanceMobileLife for the latest new language updates!

How do I obtain Dragon Go!?

There are a number of ways you can get Dragon Go! Including:

Get Dragon Go! while you are on the go!

  • Go directly to the iTunes App store from your iPhone™/iPod™ touch, search for Dragon Go! and download for free!

Go old school!

  • Download Dragon Go! directly to your desktop iTunes™ - If you have iTunes™ installed on your desktop, you can click the Dragon Go! ‘Download Now’ button via the Applications page on this site and select "Download directly to desktop iTunes™"
I am residing outside the US. Will I be able to use the application?

Dragon Go! is currently only available in the US iTunes App Store.

If you reside outside the US and would like to learn more about or try our free Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search apps for iPhone or iPod Touch visit the iTunes App Store in country where you reside. Chances are you’ll find us there!

Today, Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search are available in the following iTunes App Stores:

How can I correct recognition errors?

There are several ways to correct dictated text: You can tap on a word to get a drop-down list of alternative suggestions. Or you can open the iPhone keyboard and tap to edit as you like.

How is Dragon Go! different from a search engine like Google or Bing?

Dragon Go! picks up where traditional search engines leave off, taking you directly to the mobile Web site that delivers what you want. So rather than scroll through pages of blue links – Dragon Go! is one-app access across the mobile Web. Just give it a try – you’ll see what we mean! I see Google is the default search provider. Any others I can choose from – I like to mix it up!

You betcha! With Dragon Go! you can set your default search provider settings to Google, Yahoo! or Bing. And changing your default search provider setting is a breeze. Just go to the Setting icon in Dragon Go!, click on the Search Provider tab and the select your search provider of choice. It’s that simple!

Can I share Dragon Go! on my device?

Dragon Go! adapts to your voice and builds a unique voice profile for you, which increases speech recognition accuracy over time. For best speech recognition results, it is best that you be the primary speaker for Dragon Go! requests to ensure your voice profile continues to improve and deliver faster and even more accurate results over time. Of course – sometimes we all have to share. So if someone will be borrowing your device or using Dragon Go! for a prolonged period of time –we recommend that you reset the voice profile so Dragon Go! can create a unique voice profile for them and deliver great results the more they use the app! You can do this from Settings → Reset Enrollment → ON. Please note, doing this will reset your voice profile.

We recommend that you do not use the Reset Enrollment feature if you are only sharing the app with someone for a few searches. After all, we know that once your friends see you use Dragon Go! they will want to give it a try!

Do I really have to press "Record" and "Done" Buttons?

No. Dragon Go! has the ability to detect when you’ve stopped speaking. However in noisy environments we recommend manually stopping the recording.

Yes! Dragon Go! adapts to your voice and creates a unique voice profile to provide better speech recognition accuracy.

How can I move the cursor?

Just double tap wherever you want to place the cursor.

I am getting lots of misrecognitions. What can I do?

Try to speak clearly and in a normal voice. Make sure not to speak too quietly. In very noisy environments the recognition accuracy will suffer. As a rule of thumb if it is too noisy to have a conversation over the phone then it is probably too noisy for speech recognition to work accurately.

What are some of the things I can do with Dragon Go!?

Dragon Go! is so easy to use – just say what you want and it delivers you results across the best sites on the mobile Web. Here are a few examples to get you going:

  • “What’s the weather like”?  to see local weather conditions on AccuWeather.com and you can compare weather forecasts across The Weather Channel and Weather Underground.
  • “Cowboys and Aliens” to instantly buy tickets and see trailers on Fandango, and then scroll over to Twitter to see what people are saying about the movie.
  • “Technology News on New York Times” and get direct access to the technology section on NYT.com
  • “Call Whole Foods Market near me” and instantly see a list of stores near you including phone numbers to tap and call
Why am I getting timeouts, connection errors or slow response times?

Dragon Go! streams audio data to a network server infrastructure. As with anything on the mobile Web – for the best experience you want to have a good network or WiFi connection. So if you receive this message check to make sure you have more than the minimum signal strength on your iPhone™. If in doubt, download a website via the mobile phone's browser and monitor the download speed. If it is s-l-o-w to load your connection strength needs to be a bit stronger.

System Requirements & Installation

Do I need an Internet connection, data plan or WiFi?

Yes. Your transcribed texts as well as the result list are sent over the Internet. You need either a WiFi or iPhone™ data connection. Make sure you have internet connectivity before trying to use the application on your iPad™ or iPod touch™.

I am getting a warning message 'No recording device found' on my iPod™ Touch. How do I fix this?

Dragon Go! is so smart it knows your iPod™ Touch doesn't have a built in microphone to record your voice. So before you can Say it. Get it. And, go! Dragon Go! checks for the availability of a microphone on startup.  Misplaced your Apple earphones with mic? No problem!  You can buy an external microphone, some of which provide you the benefit of increased recognition accuracy.  When you plug in the microphone, make sure the volume is properly adjusted, restart the application and just say what you want! Dragon Go! will deliver your result in seconds!

What are the minimum system requirements?

To get going on Dragon Go! download it to your iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 or to your third and fourth generation iPod Touch (external microphone may be required).  And, please note, Dragon Go! only likes to go on iOS 4 or later.
