I remember our first family computer. It had that black screen with the bright orange type face, and basically didn’t do anything except let me write poems or play the occasional game on floppy disk. My favorite was ‘Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?’
A few weeks ago, I read an article on NYT.com about the rise of the mobile world. It really made me think about how far we’ve come. I remember the first time I heard about Dragon NaturallySpeaking for your personal computer – it seemed so incredibly revolutionary. (You can talk to your computer and it writes what you say? No way!) Now, as an employee at Nuance, I’m here in the midst of us launching the Dragon Mobile Assistant – a mobile personal assistant that lets you simply use your voice to text, make a call, create an appointment, find directions, update your social networks and so much more. And we’re constantly looking for new ways to innovate our Dragon speech platform even further – delivering you the freedom to do more, in more places, than ever before.
Do you have an idea for where you’d like to see voice interaction integrated into a device, appliance or other? Well we’d like to hear from you on what you think just may be the next big thing for voice technology!
Let us know what you think in the comments below. And check back here next Monday for more Mobile News.
