Nuance respects the AAA and its recent study, and is working to better understand the methodology and technologies surveyed as part of the conclusions drawn in its report. We agree that driving distractions need to be minimized in an increasingly connected society and we continue to invest substantial resources toward this goal. Nuance Powers New Toyota G-BOOK Smartphone App in Japan

The connected car market continues to heat up, as Nuance announced that Dragon Drive is powering the voice capabilities behind Toyota’s new smart G-BOOK smartphone application, part of Toyota’s G-BOOK Telematics service in Japan. Dragon Drive’s Japanese voice recognition capabilities will be embedded by Toyota directly into the smart G-BOOK app, allowing users to seek out important information – such as directions and news – using natural voice input. For instance, people can say, “Find the nearest gas station,” “Looking for Italian restaurants open today,” “Find sports news,” and more. The Connected Car Takes Center Stage at CES 2013

CES calls it the “year of the connected car” and Its no secret that Dragon Drive is making the in-car conversational experience a widespread reality. Two key announcements at CES attested to its growing popularity. First, Nuance and Chrysler announced that Nuance’s automotive grade connected car platform is powering the voice capabilities of Chrysler’s Uconnect Access services. With Uconnect, drivers can enjoy hands-free message dictation, navigation and local business search simply by speaking. Live from CES: Nuance Powers Up ZTE’s New Car Mode App

Another announcement at CES revealed that Nuance’s voice capabilities will be integrated as part of a new portfolio of ZTE Android devices worldwide. The result will be a “diverse set of mobile applications and devices” that foster a more natural, human interaction between people and their ZTE phones with support for more than 25 languages. Among those applications is ZTE’s new Car Mode application. By integrating Nuance’s powerful voice capabilities, this app lets users stay connected to people and content without bringing additional manual-visual distractions into the car.
