Tuesday Tip (PC) – Auto-Formatting

Here’s a quick Tuesday Tip for folks using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12 for the PC: You can take advantage of Dragon’s option to automatically insert commas and periods as you dictate—see Auto-Formatting under the DragonBar’s Tools menu. The Help contains details about this “Natural Punctuation” option and the commands to turn it on and off. Customer of the Week – Zach!

This week we shine the spotlight on Zach Osbrach, our customer of the week! Zach, who was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 40, used Dragon NaturallySpeaking to help him realize his dream of opening a charter school for children with dyslexia. Having experienced it himself and struggling for years with his disability, Zach decided that there was a need for an alternative to the public school system where children with dyslexia didn’t necessarily always receive the specialized attention they required. Here’s a quick Thursday Tip for folks using Dragon Dictate for Mac 3: Have a craving for some killer apple pie recipes to blow away your relatives with at Thanksgiving? (We sure do!) With Dragon’s built-in voice commands, starting your search is as easy as saying “Search Bing for apple pie recipe.” And if you need a place to keep all those new recipes, try saying “Search Google for vintage recipe box” and browse to your heart’s content. *Note: These shortcuts work no matter what application is currently open on your screen. You can also navigate to specific web sites using the Web 100 commands, such as: – “Jump to CNN” – “Jump to eBay” – “Jump to Motley Fool”… read more

Dragon Tuesday Tip (PC) – Switch Things Up

Here’s a quick Tuesday Tip for folks using Dragon NaturallySpeaking for the PC: If several windows are open on your computer, you can change which one is active and in the foreground in several ways: Say “switch to” followed immediately by the name of the desired application, folder, or document: e.g., switch to DragonPad, switch to Lotus Notes, switch to My Computer, switch to DragonBar, switch to winter projects. Customer of the Week – Nancy!

This week we shine the spotlight on Nancy – our customer of the week! On June 22, 1997, Nancy Blose’s life literally turned upside down when her Jeep flipped five times and she was left with a broken neck. She recalls: “I was a 34-year-old mother of two, a wife, a sister, a daughter, now trapped in a broken body.
